Project: using ICT, learning through drama and outdoor education create a project on the theme "Connecting the past with the present". Present a legend from your country using ICT tools; it has to be a film production; you may introduce sound effects, music, costumes, songs etc; maximum time alloted: 20 min.

Grandmother is going to church. She is listening to her new MP3 player, which is playing Korn and Slipknot. While walking, she noticed Sphinx, who was eating and drinking. Grandmother decided to kiss it and surprisingly not her, but Sphinx changed its image. It became covered with pimples and spots. Suddely it started crying, which made old grandmother laughing. She was very excited and enthusiastic that she jumped to the Vistula River. The river was very deep so she drowned. Then sphinx called his friends (monsters and ghosts) to celebrate her death near the river. ......

Long time ago in Italy, there were Romelo and Remo, who were brothers. They were raised by a wolf. When they grew up, they built a town. Romelo built Remo. Romelo got married to a waterlady. Thye had two children: boruta and Yakinthos. Yakinthos was a very beautiful man. Boruta was very jealous of him so he tried to kill him. But waterlady protected him and changed him into waterlily. The brother of Yakinthos – Boruta chased him to take a revenge. But .....

1000 years ago, there was a strange big castle somewhere in Transilvania that everybody was afraid of. One day, someone wanted to see Dracula and after he had entered the castle, he never came back. After that, citizens started thinking that someone evil was in the castle and a very curious prince went there so that he could see Dracula. One day, he saw a very beautiful girl and he fell in love with her. Dracula had captured her into his castle because he was also in love with her. So the prince decided to go in the castle and rescue the girl. When he found her, Dracula appeared and bit the girl’s neck. The prince started fighting with him but he vanished. The girl was lying dead and the prince started crying over her dead body.....

Prepare a debate on the topic "How green are you?" - a discussion about ecological problems in your area. 

Starting from a legend, story or a myth, create a media presentation to send an ecological message.

Good practice example:

"The charming blue planet"

During our researches for preparation of this session, we realised each country, each place has to face with the ecological problems such as the problems who already had named. That's why, we tried to build a story based on a fantasy of a famous writer, Antoine de Saint Exupery.  Is a beautiful story about of little prince and his friend, a little planet.  I  guess, each of us are a little prince for his own little planet. But together we are building a chain of little planets, chain who is, in fact, our blue planet, The Earth.

If each of us will take care of his own little planet, the blue chain of mother earth will be saved from ourselves.

We will be saved from ourselves!

Evaluation session: Ballads into an European context

• Choose a ballad (a traditional song dealing with themes relevant to myths or legends of your country)
• The following aspects of the ballad will be analyzed: geography, music, history and any other cultural reference relevant to the topic.
• Translation of the lyrics into English.
• Choose the way the original ballad and its “interpretation” will be presented during the evaluation session (e.g. singing, acting, power point, CD player...)
• Prepare the material (costumes, music instruments, maps...) necessary for the presentation. 
• Please note that a time limit (approximately 20 mins.) will be allotted to each of the groups  involved in the project.

How the session will work:

Each group will present the ballad in the chosen format. The English version of the original ballad will then shared around the class. Cultural aspects of the ballad are then dealt with.

Was the Romanian Shepperd sad? Was he happy? Did he died peacefull? Nobody knows...but you could have an opinion after you watch the next movie - the story of the one Romanian UNESCO monument : - The Merry Cemetery from Săpânța.

4. Interaction with audience

So, there , at Săpânța, every ending is a new beginning ... a new life. That's the Romanian spirit! We celebrate life each spring. We celebrate love, on February, at Dragobete's Day, the Romanian St. Valentin.

The party for love last even in March. The first day of march, we celebrate the Little March Amulet Day - "Mărțișor" Day, another celebration of love.

Who gives life? Women! That's why, we continue the spring party of love celebrating Women's Day or Mothers' Day on March 8th.

Let's celebrate the love, together, in advance, in Romanian style - let's showing each other love by accepting our Romanian hand-made small gifts: the little March amulets (the Romanians pupils gave to all audience those handmade gifts).  

Even boys received amulets and spring good luck wishes (on yellow page) ;)
